1. Why this page exists

Almost every website that ranks for service dog searches makes its money selling registrations and certificates that have no legal meaning. Those companies cannot tell you the truth about registration without destroying their own income.

We make money a different way, and the only way you can judge whether that is better is if we show you exactly how. So here it is.

2. How we earn

Paid listing plans

Trainers and programs can pay for a plan that adds their logo, their own description, direct contact buttons, photographs, and better placement within their credential level. Full prices are on the pricing page.

State Premier placements

One business per state can buy the card at the top of that state's page and the pages of every city inside it. That card is always labelled as a paid partnership, and it sits outside the ranked results rather than inside them.

Referrals for emotional support animal letters

We do not write letters and we are not clinicians. On our ESA letters page we link to licensed telehealth providers, and we may earn a commission when someone uses one of those links, at no extra cost to you. Payment never influences whether a clinician approves anyone, and it does not change what we say about the law. If a provider's practices fall short, we drop them regardless of what they pay.

3. What money cannot buy

• A badge. ADI Accredited and Verified reflect accreditation and certification we checked with the issuing body. There is no price for either.
• A position above better credentials. Results are ordered by credential level first and by paid plan only within a level. A free accredited program always appears above a paid unaccredited trainer. This is enforced in the code that builds every page, not left to anyone's discretion.
• Removal of a competitor. We do not remove or demote listings because another business asked or paid.
• Favourable coverage. Nobody pays to appear in our articles.

4. How to spot a paid placement

• State Premier cards carry a paid partnership notice on the card itself.
• Featured listings carry a "Featured" ribbon, worded so it cannot be mistaken for a verification result.
• Links a business paid for are marked rel="sponsored", which tells search engines the same thing the label tells you.
• The ESA letters page carries its disclosure at the top, not buried at the bottom.

5. What we will not sell, at any price

• Service dog registrations, certificates, identification cards or vests. No government agency issues them and neither do we.
• Your personal information. See our Privacy Policy.
• The verification standard itself.

6. Holding us to it

If you ever find a paid listing outranking a better-credentialed free one, or a badge that does not hold up, tell us at hello@findservicedogs.com. That is a bug in the thing we care most about, and we will treat it as one.
