1. Who we are and what this site is

Find Service Dogs is an educational directory of service dog trainers, assistance dog programs, and related services in the United States, operated from Ohio. Using the site means you accept these terms.

The directory is information. It is not a recommendation, an endorsement, or a promise about any business listed on it. Choosing who trains a service dog is a serious decision, often an expensive one, and it remains yours.

2. What we do not do

• We do not sell registrations, certificates, identification cards or vests. No federal or state agency issues them either. Anyone selling you one is selling a document with no legal force.
• We do not certify or accredit anyone. Where a listing shows a credential, that credential was issued by somebody else and we say who.
• We do not train dogs, place dogs, or provide veterinary, medical or legal advice. Articles on this site are general information, not advice about your situation.
• We do not write emotional support animal letters and we are not a mental health provider. Only a licensed clinician who has actually assessed you can write one.

3. What our badges mean

Badges are statements about what we checked, and nothing more:

• ADI Accredited. Accreditation by Assistance Dogs International, confirmed against their published records.
• Verified. A professional certification we checked with the body that issued it.
• Business Listed. A public business listing. We have not verified credentials.

Badges cannot be bought. No payment, plan or advertising arrangement affects whether a listing receives one, and paid listings never appear above listings with stronger credentials. Information can go out of date between checks, so verify anything that matters to you directly with the provider and the certifying body.

4. Accounts

You need an account to claim or add a listing. Give accurate information, keep your password to yourself, and tell us if you think someone else has got into your account. You are responsible for what happens under it.

You must be at least 18 and, if you are claiming a listing, authorised to act for that business.

5. Claiming and managing a listing

Claiming is free. To claim a listing you must prove you control a contact detail we already held for that business, or provide evidence a person reviews. We may refuse or reverse a claim if the evidence does not hold up.

Once you manage a listing you may correct its details. Changes to the business name and to credentials are reviewed before they appear, because those are claims we make on your behalf to someone choosing who to trust with a disability.

By submitting content you confirm that:

• It is accurate and you have the right to publish it.
• Any credential you list is one you actually hold and we may check it.
• You own or are licensed to use every image you upload.
• You grant us permission to display that content on the directory.

Claiming a credential you do not hold is grounds for immediate removal, with no refund. That rule is the whole reason this directory is worth anything.

6. Paid plans

Paid plans change how visible and how detailed your listing is. They do not change your badge, your credential level, or your position relative to better-credentialed listings. Prices, features and billing terms are on the pricing page, and cancellations and refunds are covered by our Refund Policy.

Payments are handled by Stripe. We never receive or store your card details. If a subscription lapses, the listing reverts to a free listing. We do not delete a real provider's listing for non-payment, because people rely on this directory to find help.

7. Acceptable use

Do not use this site to:

• Post false, misleading or fraudulent information, particularly about credentials.
• Claim a business you do not represent.
• Scrape, copy or resell the directory in bulk.
• Interfere with the site's operation or security, or attempt to access another account.
• Harass anyone, or use contact details from the directory to send unsolicited marketing.

8. Removing or changing listings

We may edit, unpublish or remove any listing, and suspend any account, where information is inaccurate, a credential cannot be substantiated, these terms have been broken, or the listing would mislead somebody making a decision about their own care. Where it is practical and fair to do so, we will tell you why.

If you are listed and want to be removed, ask us and we will remove you. You do not have to explain why.

9. Other people's content and links

Listings contain information provided by businesses and gathered from public sources. Links to other websites are not endorsements and we are not responsible for what is on them. Links a business has paid for are marked as such, both to you and to search engines.

10. Disclaimers and liability

The site is provided as is. We work hard on accuracy but we do not warrant that every listing is complete, current or correct, and we are not a party to anything you agree with a provider you found here.

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Some states do not allow certain limits, in which case the limits that are not allowed do not apply to you.

Nothing here limits liability for fraud or for anything that cannot lawfully be limited.

11. Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top always shows when. If a change materially affects paying customers, we will give notice by email before it takes effect.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, and the courts of Ohio have jurisdiction, without affecting any consumer rights you have where you live.
